Serving His Country

WORCESTER – Paul F. Lavallee Sr., 78, died Wednesday, Feb. 3rd in St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester.

He leaves his beloved wife of 54 years, Sheila M. (Strozina) Lavallee; five children, Paul F. Lavallee Jr. of San Jose, CA and his fiancée Jill Debord, Faith A. Lavallee and her husband, Mark S. Bettke of Sutton, Deborah J. Lavallee of CO, Sheila M. Westerlind and her husband, Kevin D. of Richmond, IN and Kathleen M. Budgell and her husband, Lawrence G. of Worcester; seven grandchildren, Paul J., Matthew M., Patrick J. Lavallee and Kyle D., Kevin D. Jr., Brooke M. Westerlind and Timothy M. Budgell; two sisters, JoAn Olinder and her husband, Robert of Florida and Barbara LaPlant and her husband, Richard of Worcester; many beloved nieces and nephews. He graduated from Holy Name High School in Worcester in 1950.

Mr. Lavallee was Superintendant of Customer Service for the former Commonwealth Gas Co. in Worcester where he worked for 33 years, retiring in 1988. He was a Staff Sergeant in the Army, serving in Korea and later was assigned to the Air Force Special Weapons Unit. He was a member of the Men's Club of St. Andrew the Apostle Church and the Greendale Retired Men's Club. He was a committee member of Boy Scout Troop #89 at St. Andrew the Apostle Church. He was a devoted husband and father, loved and adored by his family and friends.

His funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6th in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 5 Spaulding St. in Worcester. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Worcester. Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Rt. 122A in Millbury. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society of St. Andrew\St. Peter Church, 929 Main St., Worcester, MA 01610.
